Movie Reviews with Lexie: Greta

March 13, 2019

Well, hello there! Long time no see, am I right? This week I will be reviewing, Greta. This is not your average Rotten Tomatoes.

There is a new terror on streets, and she is hoping you will return her purse. Greta was released in theaters on March 1, 2019, and runs for an hour and a half. The psychological thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat, unable to look away.

The film sets the scene as our main character, Frances (Chloe Grace Moretz), returns a seemingly harmless purse back to its owner, Greta (Isabelle Huppert). Greta invites Frances in, due to her kindness, for tea and the pair become friends fast. They even go get a dog together! However, everything is not what it seems. While Greta prepares dinner for the two, Frances stumbles onto something terrifying. There are identical purses hidden away that seem to be used to lure people in. As it registers in Frances' head, she leaves after dinner and plans never speak to Greta again. Greta seems to have different plans though. Frances begins to see Greta watching her for numerous hours, and fights for her life to avoid this crazy stalker.

Let me tell ya'll...this movie was insane! It depicts the horrors that are surrounding us, such as simply helping a stranger. I was on the edge of my seat, literally, wondering what would happen next. Still, the movie could not have been so amazing without the actors' work. Greta's eccentric personality definitely gives way to her psychotic behavior in the film. Seriously, I was still shaken up after the movie.

If you're wondering, "How can an old lady be so athletic?", or enjoy uncovering skeletons in a closet, Greta is the movie for you. Just don't fall for her tricks. I believe Greta deserves a 9 out of 10 for the incredible acting, and a unique story-line.

Leave a comment on what movie I should review next! Maybe yours will be picked!Toodles!
